Tattoo Aftercare
Now you have your fresh new tattoo, you have to take good care of it.
From this point on your artist is NOT responsible for any infections or problems you may have that may occur due to bad aftercare. It is very important that you follow these guidelines:
- Leave the cling film on for two hours then remove it
- Wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and mild liquid soap, use CLEAN and SANITISED hands. Take care to remove all traces of blood as this may cause scabbing/ irritation.
- ALWAYS gently pat the tattoo with a clean soft towel to get it completely dry.
- Apply a thin layer of BEPANTHEN (nappy rash cream) to the tattoo 5 times a day for 2 weeks.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO! JUST SLAP IT!
You can take a shower with a new tattoo but avoid soaking it.
Don’t put soap and shower gel directly on tattoo (irritants).
Swimming should be avoided for the first 2 weeks.
Avoid exposing your tattoo to direct sunlight or sunbed during the healing process.
After your tattoo has completely healed, use a product with the highest SPF possible if you’re going to be catching some rays. This will keep your tattoo vibrant for many years, and it will continue to be a source of great pride.
